When employers apply for a workers' compensation policy, they must select a MCO to manage the medical portion of a workers' compensation claim. The MCO ensures that injured workers receive quality medical care. This includes:

• Evaluating the injured worker's current and future medical needs.
• Approving the injured worker's treatment.
• Paying the worker's medical bills.
• Providing rehabilitation referrals.

An injured worker will need to know the name of the MCO at each doctor visit. Use the Employer/MCO look-up to find the assigned MCO.
