NFL Hall of Famer Muñoz to address Ohio Safety Congress
Health and safety of Ohio’s workforce focus of BWC conference

March 9, 2020

COLUMBUS – NFL Hall of Famer and former Cincinnati Bengal Anthony Muñoz will address thousands of Ohio employers and workers Wednesday to kick off the 2020 Ohio Safety Congress & Expo (OSC 2020), the annual workplace health and safety event hosted by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC).
Considered by many as the greatest offensive lineman in NFL history, Muñoz will kick off OSC 2020 shortly after 9:30 a.m. at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, where he is expected to talk about his career, the importance of workplace safety, and his post-football life.
“I grew up in Cincinnati rooting for Anthony and the Bengals, so I am delighted he will be here to open this important safety event for Ohio’s employers and workers,” said BWC Administrator/CEO Stephanie McCloud.
Now in its 90th year, safety congress is the largest free work-safety event in the United States. It offers workplace safety and health education, training and resources for Ohio workers and employers, as well as continuing education credits for professionals in the health care, human resources, safety, and legal communities.
New to safety congress this year is an online attendance option, a live broadcast of selected sessions and reports from the event you can watch from anywhere after registering for the option. Perfect for small businesses, students, and first-timers who want to see what OSC 2020 is all about.
In addition, safety congress is offering five sessions focused on the hazards of trenching and excavation. The sessions offer strategies, tools, tips, techniques and training for making trenching and excavating work safer.
There is no fee for employers and their employees to attend OSC, which includes more than 200 educational sessions presented by experts from across the country. In addition, an expo marketplace will host 300 exhibitors
Required of all attendees, registration for the in-person and online option is available at ohiosafetycongress.com
