We're pleased to invite Ohio's health-care providers and staff to this FREE educational opportunity, kicking off with a pre-conference Vocational Rehabilitation Workshop on Thursday, April 30, 2020. The fifth annual symposium will focus on Comprehensive Care for an Injured Worker.

Join us for the latest information covering best practices in safe and effective medical care of injured workers. The 2020 symposium will feature exceptional speakers, exhibitors, and our BWC Medical & Health Division staff leading this unique, multi-disciplinary event that is offered at no cost.

Clinical Education

The provider clinical education track, May 1 – 2, features leading state and national experts in their fields and will include:

  • Best practices and tools for the successful return to work of injured workers.

  • Effective ways to communicate return to work to your patients.

  • Review of common “red flags” to identify individuals who may benefit from focused interventions.

  • Multi-disciplinary treatment approach for complex cases.

  • Pharmacological approach to assessing a patient’s risk for substance use disorder.

  • Personal testimonial about opioid addiction.

  • How medical treatment and the legal system intersect in the workers’ compensation system.

Provider Staff Forum

The provider staff forum track on May 1 offers a full day of education designed for provider office staff on topics related to key workers’ compensation policies and procedures. We recommend office staff/administrators who manage the day-to-day operations of workers’ compensation processes and workflows within a health-care system or provider’s office attend this track.

New this year! Pre-Conference Vocational Workshop

The vocational workshop in the afternoon of Thursday, April 30, is designed for vocational rehabilitation providers. This workshop is an opportunity to partner in education with us on our mission to provide the best vocational rehabilitation and transitional work program services to Ohio’s injured workers.
